FAQs

Q: How do I obtain a password to make online registrations?

A: If you already have a Vet Code, please contact idENTICHIP for a password (which will be sent by post).
If you do not have a Vet Code, please contact idENTICHIP to receive your password and Vet Code.

Q: How do I register an animal that I have just microchipped?

A:

Registration form

The completed paper form is the traditional method which is completed by the owner and can b posted in to the database by either the owner or the practice.

Posted forms carry an inherent delay in registration of the pet however identichip has an efficient “back Trac “ system whereby the microchip is registered to the implanting practice at the time of delivery and so the microchip is traceable at all times.

Online

Online registration ensures the owner and pet details are available more immediately.

Registration can be done immediately by the practice using a unique password linked to its vetcode.

NEW AND UNIQUE to identichip, owners can now register their own pets details online using details contained on the new format registration form.

Practice computer system

Subject to compatibility with the practice system and co operation by the supplier owner and pet details can be transferred using Vetxml directly into the Anibase system.

Practice Printed Form

Practices may print their own version of the registraion form, attach a barcode and send via fax or post to Anibase for registration.

Q: Can I amend Pet or Pet Owner Details?

A: You are unable to make any amendments to pet owner details. These can only be done by the owner  or idENTICHIP database administration.

However, you are able to make a change to pet details in respect of the death of a pet... You are of course able to make amendments to your practice details

Q: What if I cannot find the Microchip Number on the database?

The database is case-sensitive.If the number is correct then contact idENTICHIP on 01904 487600 who should be able to identify the source of the microchip. If the enquiry is out of hours then you should contact  0870 606 6751.

Q: What if the Microchip is already registered?

A: A message to this effect will be displayed if the microchip has already been registered on the database..
