At Animalcare Ltd the company which controls the Anibase and Identichip brands, we recognise the importance of protecting the privacy of the information held on the Anibase database. Below we set out how the data that you disclose to the Anibase database, will be held, what it will be used for and details of our data protection policy.

We collect personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, telephone numbers and email address, voluntarily provided by you when you register your pet and its microchip. We will only process this information in accordance with this policy or as otherwise agreed to by you.

By registering on the Anibase database you agree that we may use the information you have given in the following way.

Your information will be held on a computer database. Animalcare Ltd of Common Road, Dunnington, York, YO19 5RU, will collect your data as controller of the database and your details may be accessible to and be used by other Animalcare Group companies for approved uses. However we will always employ appropriate technical and physical security measures to protect your personal information and to ensure that it is not accessed by unauthorised persons.

Your personal data will be used to administer the Identichip pet identification scheme and may be disclosed to those involved in securing the welfare of your pet.

If you have consented to receive other communications from us your information may also be used by Animalcare Ltd or selected third parties to provide you with printed or online publications, telephone messages, SMS messages and/or email communications.

While it is unlikely, we may be required to disclose your information by court order or to comply with other legal or regulatory requirements. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you before we do so, unless we are legally restricted from doing so.

Your and your pet’s information will be retained by Animalcare Ltd for the lifetime of your pet. You will at any time have the right to access your information and you can request either online or in writing that your information on the database is amended / deleted. Any amendments that are requested simply as a part of keeping your information up to date to ensure the proper running of the Identichip pet identification service will normally be subject to a data maintenance fee as part of the Identichip service provided. We aim to deal with your requests within 10 working days of its receipt.

This privacy policy may be amended by us at any time. Please check this website periodically to inform yourselves of any changes.
